Are you guys still looking for that perfect piece of crochet heaven for summer? Well, look no further, I have found something that will change your lives on a warm & sunny day.
That piece of heaven is this crochet playsuit by Lipsy, in which I wore on our adventure up to the top of Mt. Pinos while prancing around those beautiful flowers.
We were really trying to play with dimension in these images to both showcase the detailing of the playsuit and also the dreamy flowers that filled the meadow.
The conditions were perfect. So, If you're looking for a nice hike, and don't want to go to far from LA, I recommend visiting this spot. We've been many times, but I've never seen those flowers until now!
This is what it looks like when you get to the top of the mountain - the best views (especially when you arrive at golden hour)! All of the mountainous layers were lit just right.
I cannot even tell you how comfortable this playsuit is - I could live in it all day every day.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weeks so far! I have been traveling a ton (as I'm sure you guys figured!). Next week I am headed to Denver to see one of my best friends get married and to also check out the beautiful Colorado scenery. As of now we have Hanging Lake, the Great Sand Dunes, and the Rocky Mountains on our to do list - let me know if there are any other must sees!
Photos shot by Darius Twin, of course!
Sunrise on the Dunes | Mesquite Sand Dunes
I woke up at 4:00am in Death Valley to see the sunrise over the Mesquite Sand Dunes, and it was all kinds of magic.
The vibrant color that filled the sky, the stillness throughout the desert, and the brisk, morning air all helped in providing that magic on these dreamy dunes. So, we decided to go on an expedition to find the *untouched* sand - and, sure enough, we found just what we were looking for!
'May every sunrise hold more promise, and every sunset hold more peace'
Seeing the sunrise from an enchanting location such as this always wakes me up inside. To have the ability to start off my day with something so fascinating, really sets a tone for the day. A tone of possibility, eagerness, and drive - like, yes, I can do anything in the world! ::)
I hope this post inspires you to see the sunrise from somewhere new! I'm going to end with a song I feel is perfect for this message, as it opens with the following lyric: 'We've got nothing but time, to do what we like, so let's live before we die.' Keep livin' y'all!

Superbloom in Death Valley
We finally did what we absolutely had to do - chase the Death Valley superbloom - and those beautiful, desert wildflowers were exploding with color everywhere I turned! I visited Death Valley during spring of last year and there were tons of flowers, but nothing quite like this. Flowers smothered the surface of the valley and added a whole new essence to the park.
We shot this series of photos when we had first arrived -- when it was raining and the winds were up to 50mph! Oh, and our plan was to camp in our tent -- which ended up being the worst idea (ha!) so we slept in the car! But hey, weather added a sense of mystery to these photos and I love it! Those thick, layered clouds and moody skies created such a nice contrast. Check out what I'm wearing below -- my new favorite outfit for springtime ::)

Skies on Fire | Valley of Fire
I'm happy to (finally!) share one of my favorite shoots to date, picking flowers and dancing the night in away in the Valley of Fire. Okay, maybe not picking flowers, I brought that one along with me -- but don't those turquoise accents look dreamy? This is quite possibly the most beautiful sunset I've ever experienced, the sky seemed to be on fire, and nothing felt better than to let loose and flow with the breeze. How could you not when you're wearing that dress by Leon Max and jewelry by Lena Bernard? So I did just that, while playing some of my favorite tunes and feeling the love with Darius Twin.
Monumental Moment
Wanderin' through the desert never felt so good until I visited Monument Valley in Utah. This place is so dreamy and left me overwhelmed with its natural beauty. There are sandstone formations everywhere that appear to be man-made monuments each unique in their own way, but they are natural pieces of art and the effects of wind, water, and erosion. Our campsite was right where we shot these photos - waking up to a sunrise shining down on those formations was a moment I will never forget ~ a monumental moment, that is! ^_^
Fire Wave | Valley of Fire
Welcome to the Valley of Fire, yall ~ aka the first stop of our Southwestern road trip! My oh my this location was even better than I was expecting - and I didn't think that was even possible. The luscious shades of orange and red on those rock formations reacted quite nicely with the dreamy golden hour light, causing the most vivid colors to shine throughout the park. As we went further in, we began to see every color of the rainbow perfectly placed within the rocky landscape. Let's just say this was the best way to start the journey.
I was so excited to wear the outfit pictured above - so much that I had to shoot it first! And because the colors just worked perfect in that location. The mala beads from Jeanne Verger are a new favorite of mine. She's actually having a flash sale today -- If you use the code 'ASTROBANDIT' you will receive 20% off of your entire order! I just loved the way they looked with that perfectly boho dress from Raga and turban from I'm With The Band.
